Quite unexpectedly it seems Kermit and I might have found a BX that suits our needs and isn't too far away/expensive. We plan to travel to where the BX is and do a repair that means it can, once again be driven. Some might realise from Facebook that this is an estate with a broken clutch pedal.
Any advice and information would be useful, chaps!

Re: BX Repair advice.
lol! Replace or repair is the plan. I suppose I should've been a bit more precise. Any tips for removing and replacing a pedal box?
It's a n/a 1.9 diesel BTW.

Re: BX Repair advice.
remove driver seat makes access a lot easier 2 nuts and 2 hex key hold the pedal box in thhey are loctited, fit a new clutch cable whilst its all out ensure cable collars are lined up and take a spare throttle cable plastic clip, fairly easy should take an hour or so, take note of clutch cable routing. removing the top engine mount will give better access as the engine can be tilted forward a bit as access is fairly limited, good luck

Unless you have access to a welder, then you'll need to replace with a good unit.
Not a lot of fun getting that 'securing clip thing' to keep the clutch cable sheath secured properly.
Never thought of removing the the front seat but that would seem possibly the best tip you'll get!
Be sure to adjust the clutch pedal travel correctly!

Re: BX Repair advice.
Now, it would seem this isn't going to happen. Not an easy decision given the BX in question, but as per my blog, different priorities have made themselves heard.
