Discs

Post by Philip Chidlow »

Are Brembo a good make of front disc? It seems they are relatively cheap, and quite easy to get hold of.

Here're ones for my ZX: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261288737139" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

never had a prob with brembo discs fitted some on the tzd 5 years ago and still good after 60k. think i paid £25 for a pair off ebay. seems n.o.s citroen bits can be picked up cheaply enough.

Brembo are one of the main brake suppliers to the Italian m/cycle industry along with Grimeca. Both companies products are usually v good quality. It is important to match pads though. With my Italian bikes I always used Ferodo pads, identical to the originals but half the price.

With the BX I prefer original Bendix pads, not over impressed with increased wear and squeal from Mintex patterns. Just my two pennorth.. :D

Interesting about Ferodo pads as I was considering them too :)

/\ Seems to suggest Brembos work best with Renault, Ford, Honda, Mercedes and Ferrari but nothing for Citroens. :lol:

I have Brembos on my Duke; they are phenomenal stoppers and have a very good reputation in the biking world.

I had Ferodo pads fitted at the front of my TZD along with nos genuine front discs for the MOT, only a few hundred miles in but plenty of stop when asked and no squealing.
