Relay box

Post by WitneyBX »

Evening all, well here I am again asking for help.

The problem today is the relay box needs replacing. Is this a cheap and easy fix does anyone know or a horrible job?

Any help greatly appreciated.

what is a 'relay box'? Do you mean the fuse board? In which case its a relatively straight forward job, but i've never ever seen one fail, even heavily drenched they tend to dry out and work again.

Unless of course you mean the plastic 'hat' that covers the relays in the scuttle (near the front windscreen wiper motor)

It's also on Facebook, and it turns out his garage mean the glowplug relay. But they're also blaming that for all the warning lights coming on randomly, so I'd be somewhat suspicious of their diagnosis...

It does sound like "inappropriate guesswork"

If it does have something to do with the glowplug box then I'd suggest the first step would be to look at the earthing / grounding connections. The negative lead from the battery should be securely attached and connected to both the bodywork and the engine. Then check the battery connections themselves to make sure they are tight.
