Just wondering whether you went through with any of the mods you have posted questions on in the past? It might sound rather sniffy, but most people on the forum would be more tempted by an unmolested car in original spec. We know you junked the tweed seats (shame) but is anything else non-standard?
You're asking strong money for the car and the best chance you have of drumming up some interest is being absolutely crystal-clear about its condition. A full set of photos inside and out and a detailed description would help enormously and I would stick the wheel trims back on before you take them.
To be honest, you would probably reach a bigger audience using ebay and after the NEC show it may well be that there are some new potential buyers out there. It's your call.

You still have the trims somewhere or these painted wheels? I'm afraid you are being very optimistic TGD's rarely make over £500 but like Des says you may latch on to the NEC show fever if you're quick.

TGD's do fetch a few hundred quid, but this one is way above the usual high mileage tired and battered examples out there and is mechanically spot on. (a 19TXD estate fetched exactly a grand last week), and was maintained by a well known Citroen enthusiast before Andrew bought it.
The Zenith interior is a useful upgrade and to all but the most informed BX afficianado's would look like it came from the factory like that (as its grey like the rest of the dash etc), also as they are GTI style seats they fit some better than others. WTF had a set fitted instead of tweed (and that sold for very strong money) as I much prefer the Zenith trim and found the normal seats gave me back ache after a while as I have back problems.
Stick the original trims back on Andrew and take lots of pictures and you may do well.
£1000 is strong money and you may get somewhere near.

I think this could be a market tester for the positive reasons pointed out. The timing might be right for its location after the NEC. There has to start being a margin between a sorted car and a growler to reward the expense of sorting cars out. Otherwise only those with the skills, wills or wallet will do it (ah ha, the flow, Waldo, the flow). The key comment is uprate not customise. Uprating to better seats, lights, decals, engine improvements is acceptable as they come from within the model range or as original accessories. They can therefore be altered back to original. Customising is normally a request to buy bad taste that cannot be easily removed. A collector/classic buyer will not see customising as warranting a premium. Uplifts reflect on usage for comfort but is also related to the stock of cars left. At some point there will not be enough. The better parts will become desirable and will be retro fitted to some cars. To annoy Tim and co, each BX scrapped is starting to make mine worth more money.
Having dragged Gary to good road use I think I would have willingly paid £1,500 for him had I wanted to get straight in a drive. You might say I would not find a good reasonable mileage version of my car at that price. Its another debate. Now that is a Turbo Estate but not everyone wants a turbo, nor an estate. Look how the Gti prices are starting to get bumped up. If that sticks there will be a proportional movement upwards for the rest dependant on desirability. Indeed is this the time to be selling?
So this is why I think this car is a tester.

I wonder what a the value would be for a original TGD tweed interior?
Like new condition only covered 28k, rear seats probabally not sat in!
Door cards, bolsters and rear headrests too!!
Erm well, depends whos after it really, most people used to ditch the tweet in favour of a Gti or 16v interior, Kitchs Le Mans interiors for sale for £60
Ive just purchased a similarly mint red herringbone interior (without rear headrests for £40).
I may know someone who wants it if you are selling.
