Thank You for your response Neil, and I will add this to my parts list, but what I am really looking for is the metal canister the same type of thing as the oil filter, or are you telling me this is all that is now available for this particular car,

Re: Hydraulic filter
Could this possibly be the LHM hydraulic reservoir that is being described?Stephen C wrote: but what I am really looking for is the metal canister the same type of thing as the oil filter, or are you telling me this is all that is now available for this particular car,

There is a filter inside but this is washable and reuseable.

Re: Hydraulic filter
Stephen it had a new LHM tank filter 500miles before you bought it and new LHM.
I think the reservoir itself maybe a bit rusty?

Re: Hydraulic filter
There was a NOS one on Ebay not long ago with a small dent in it. From a Citroen dealer in Louth (Lincs) I believe. He may still have it, around 40 quid I think.
Re: Hydraulic filter
First and foremost thank you very much everyone for all of your input, and thank you Malcolm for going too the bother of giving me the part numbers for the filter living inside of the hydraulic reservoir tank, and thank you Tim for giving me the information on when the filter was last replaced this is always very useful to know, I can now go along to see Mr. Citroen to purchase another one to keep in stock.
Now that all said I must now make the a big apology for the confusion about the metal canister, I was talking about the filter for the hydraulic, but describing the diesel filter I can only put this down to a senior moment, go on feel free to say it and it begins with a W and it makes you go blind, believe me when I say this is a mistake that is wrong on so many levels it's just not true, again thank you for all your help it is really appreciated,
Mr W

Re: Hydraulic filter
why do you feel the need to purchase new in tank filter's (2 of ),Stephen C wrote: I can now go along to see Mr. Citroen to purchase another one to keep in stock.
as these filters are just a nylon gauze bonded to a plastic/nylon frame, which just require periodically washing out in petrol,
and they usually out last the life of the car,
ok thanks for clearing that up,Stephen C wrote: Now that all said I must now make the a big apology for the confusion about the metal canister, I was talking about the filter for the hydraulic, but describing the diesel filter I can only put this down to a senior moment, go on feel free to say it and it begins with a W and it makes you go blind, believe me when I say this is a mistake that is wrong on so many levels it's just not true, again thank you for all your help it is really appreciated,

Re: Hydraulic filter
I normally clean them out, but I remember picking some up filters for £1 each at some rally so just fitted that instead.
Either way I doubt it will need changing for a wee while yet.

I am just stocking up on parts, as it is a Citroën and not a Honda,
