Attempt to attach my calender for 2014, for interest. Still a bit slow with Citroen events. We loose the general event at Little Horwood.? No mention of Stratford on Avon?
The Microcar clubs are very poor at advertising their events, or organizing in good time. They are then consistently surprised when few folk turn up. I have lost count of the number of times I have attempted to get them to look forward and out. Again you will note the Messerschmitt club is keeping its event secret even from its members! Sadly they suppress the info on the German events too. Last 2 years they have had about 180 Messerschmitts on German road runs with police outriders. Now that is a sight worth seeing. Here, 35 in a field. Berkeley and Bond have not announced yet. Well good luck with those events then..... Odd one out DWAC (Dutch) who deliberately keep a traditional weekend but only publish location late, so as to limit numbers! Best Rally on the calender by some way.
Clearly a big event really needs a good 18 month run up to book a good venue, or you have to have pickings. Given the interest in some of the marques of car I have the rallies are poor and often in little more than a field miles from services, indeed they seem more for campervans than classic car owners. a reason I am moving out of puddlejumpers for Britain into a more hands on sort of car. Still looking at the two big Continental events in Holland and Germany as they are worth the effort.

Good to see a list of events like this published.
Any idea of what the show at Newbury on Saturday is going to be like?

Re: dates 2014
9th is Sunday. This event is normally pretty relaxed. So classics can park in the venue. I think its only free if you booked. There is a jumble of maybe 35 stalls outside and a hall. Good place to meet chums and have a run out without expectations of anything earth shattering. Not much for kids but you can kick the family out in Newbury itself. The venue is maybe a mile out from the park area and normally the host is not to stiff about popping out and back. Its a good early starter for the season.Way2go wrote:Good to see a list of events like this published.![]()
