1993 1.9TXD Estate White Spotted F/S - (E-bay/C&C)

Post by RxBX »

As title listing K819 XJM spotted F/S on E-bay also on CAR & CLASSIC for £1195 !

It seems like the BX's are a 'Money Spinner' at the moment, especially the Estates, IYCR the RED 19 RD

As this White one was F/S on Gumtree only a few weeks along with another hatchback which looked like a Meteor as there where only two or three poor photos, but as the listing had ended (Showing as Sold) I didn't bother to post up the spot (As I nearly did using the title of the 'The Pair That Nearly Got Away Unnoticed')

However it has been confirm by the latest listing for White Estate that indeed the hatchback was Meteor "We are only selling this as we bought two bx, this one and a meteor hatchback which we are keeping" !
E-bay Seller wrote:For sale is this beautiful example of a bx. It just flew pass its mot without any advisories as we expected. The last owner had it for almost thirteen years and well looked after it, he was a bx enthusiast same as us. About twenty thousand miles ago he had a new cambelt and clutch fitted, he waxoiled all the pipes underneath all its life, the bodywork and interior are like new, even the boot, just some of the black plastic around it is partly worn and it has a few tiny spots of surface rust. It also has a towbar and a push up sunroof which is rare. The engine runs great, it starts instantly when you turn the key and the suspension works fine, there are no leaks and it lifts up quite quick. For anymore information please call 01508 471426. Feel free to make a sensible offer. There is no tax but we can tax it with our insurance any time. I nearly forgot to mention that it has a metal bonnet as well.
We also have this advertised on car and classic, but they give some weird phone no. of us and I cant seem to change it.
We are only selling this as we bought two bx, this one and a meteor hatchback which we are keeping, because we also have a xantia estate.

cash on collection
to be collected within four days of sale and buyer to make contact within 24 hours of sale
anybody with less than 10 feedback points get in touch first
Once a Gumtree advert has been pulled/sold you can't see the price but it does leave some description history, I spotted this thro' another search site which give a snap shot of an image (If the seller hosts one) and the price which I can remember and listing was '£350 for the pair - Repair or spares'
(Unfortunately I cleaned out my history fields on the PC the other night and I can't find the links to either Gumtree or my other search site which stated the price) !

However as I was trying to get a better check on the reg. number (To see if this one had been F/S recently) I did make a copy of one of the Gumtree photos :-

Heres the current E-bay listing :-

I think there is currently a large difference in value (relatively speaking) between a tidy looking car with an MOT and one that is either looking scruffy, needing work or who's MOT has run out.

If someone has managed to pick up one of the latter 3 and turn it into the former without spending the difference in value then good luck to them! As long as there are people willing to do this, and others willing to pay what some think are over the top prices for what they feel is the right car then more BX's will be saved instead of broken for spares, or even worse scrapped!

A friend of mine asked me about this car and I though it's a little pricey but looks a nice example.

£850 is more nearer the mark.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Which is't a bad mark up of £500 for just the price of an MOT, "It just flew pass its MOT without any advisories as we expected" which still leaves the Meteor as a freebie

E-bay listing ended with 'BEST OFFER PRICE WAS ACCEPTED' so its anyone guess to what it actually sold for :?

Perhaps £1000 !

Is the new owner a BXC member ?

:)
