The other day I was following a Volvo estate with the following numberplate:
BX55 BHP
A nice one for the owner of one of the (mythical?) 1.3s perhaps?

To be honest I find personalised numberplates very tacky - but I didn't complain when I got £185 for the Passat's! B51 XKR, now on a Jag XKR.
I should be careful how loudly I say that though, as my girlfriend has one on the Micra: M55 [her initials]. I didn't think that was toooo tacky until I saw her ex-husband's car... M55 [his initials]. Oh dear.

I don`t particulary mind private plates. Have my eye on one with VXD (for my junior football team) initials and a low number which is quite cheap.
I don`t rate the new style 51/05 type plates though as even if you bought one with your three initials on it they don`t really stand out which I always thought was the whole point.
