Alloys or trims: wanted. Cash waiting.

Post by Philip Chidlow »

Hi

It's probably premature but I'll ask anyway...

Assuming the TZD is OK, I'm picking it up tomorrow from Wolverhampton and driving it back to Chelmsford, Essex. Is there anybody here who has a set of good BX alloys and bolts they'd be willing to sell for realistic sum? I will pay a good rate especially if they are in very good nick, and especially if they come with good tyres - I'm obviously not talking mate's rates beer tokens! I don't much care if they're silver, graphite, 5.5 or 6", condition and location are more important.

Alternatively I would be willing to pay a decent amount for some genuine TZD turbo/GTi 'rattly' trims. I would also consider some Meteor trims (the ones that are similar to CX ones). The Green Hornet had a set of those at one point.

Basically if its rotten as a pear and the seller somehow missed that bit out, if it's pissing oil, coolant, LHM everywhere, it's probably a no-deal - especially as I have a 4 hour drive home. However - even considering some important details might have been overlooked in the advert and subsequent comms, it would have to be pretty bad for a negotiated reduction in price not to work.

I'm looking forward to sitting in a BX again...

If I do walk away it's not for me to say what happens to it. But if I buy it and find it's a hopeless case then I guess I would sell; but even then, with the help of my friends here and the enthusiasm and knowledge in the form of Kermit, it might still stay. Who can say?

I'm going to be selling a couple of sets of ph2 Valver rims, one of which is quite good. Will check first though.

That's a perfect answer Phil, best bet all round would be buy it sort it use it (with appropriate negotiations if not as described when you arrive there to collect)

My mind just read it as you would get it whatever and then decide if it was a keeper or not :)

Kitch, that sounds interesting; a nice set of Ph2 graphites would look the biz on a white saloon :) Let me know when and we can take it from there, cheers. Phil

I also have at least one set of ph1 6j valver rims for sale, but IMHO the graphite ones would look even better :)

I have one set ready to go, but they need new tyres. Another set are in the garage somewhere, by could bring either set to Stratford.

I can't make Stratford, but I could arrange a pick up and tyres really aren't an issue as I would probably fit new anyway. I'm interested in a set that needs little in the way of refurb and that come with bolts... Email or pm me and we can discuss? Cheers :)

I have two sets of alloys :D
- GTI 5,5
- series 1 BX genuine alloys
All alloys are sandblasted, checked and primmered - colour is up to buyer ( I can paint them ;) )
Bolts are available too.
