BX warning lights and running issues

Post by classicnut5 » Sat Aug 09, 2014 4:56 pm

When I go round a right hand corner my STOP light and hydraulic pressure warning lights come on ont dashboard. I had a Peugeot 405 and if memory serves right this did the same thing???? Any ideas?
I had a running problem after having a diesel pump, used, fitted to my 1.9 diesel. I have bled the system from an allen keyed headed bolt on engine top and part of the problem has gone. I still however have an issue starting her up from cold. It takes 3 or 4 turns but then starts with lots of black smoke. Once warm it runs fine with no smoke. If you stop and try and restart it, it will only start first turn if you put your foot right to the floor on the accelerator otherwise its back to 3 or 4 turns. Any ideas???
Also is fitting a tow bar to my BX estate difficult. I have one and it only has 4 bolts to attach it. Is this do-able by a mechanical eejut?

You need to top up your LHM as it would appear your level is low (probably due to the leak you posted on the other thread).
No similarity to the 405 as they don't use hydropneumatic suspension!

As for the tow bar, depends on the make. Yours sounds like it may pick up on the rear towing brackets. Just make sure it's not a hatchback one, which is shorter.

it is best to check the citro blood level with the car on level ground, and wait for her to be fully up on the highest setting,
