Rev counter diesel wiring diagram wanted

I have searched the site for info and have had no luck so I decided to post. If someone can help me with a diesel rev counter. I need the wiring diagram for a diesel from hall sensor and powers and earths to rev counter if you can as the Haynes only shows petrol. If someone could help that would be marvellous

sure we can! this is from a td, but im sure theres no difference to other diesels, concerning the rev counter

The circuit diagram shows the sensor as a coil - which is what I've thought it is rather than a hall sensor. If it's a coil-around-a-magnet, and if there are any difficulties or significant expense involved in finding replacements then I may be able to help - at least with the coil-winding side of any re-manufacturing...

I've nearly finished building a coil winder - it's specifically for winding some coils for 'individual string' guitar pickups - but it could be easily modified to wind small coils of the sort of dimensions that are used for crankshaft sensors. If anyone has a duff or surplus sensor and is willing to send it to me for me to have a look at then PM me.
