Cupro Nickel 3.5mm tubing

Post by Tinkley » Thu Oct 09, 2014 6:43 pm

I need to get hold of some of the 3.5mm 'hard' piping. Preference is C(K)unifer as this is a must over copper, which should NOT be used. Pleiades have run out! Any other sources out there?. I expect 10 meters would do the trick and replace all 4 front to back pipes. Basically the car was OK but sucumbed to the extra pressure on one pipe after Citrobics on replacing the rear subframe. Otherwise she should survive another year or two!.

Any other sources of supply? I note there is Bonapart just SE of Paris at about £26 for 10 meters and Automec (UK) at £45 for 7.6 meters. Just wondering if any of you know of other merchants/suppliers.
Do I need to use brass connectors with this type of tubing?, or are new steel ones OK.

I used to buy from Bonapart 2cv until they moved to France and the quality of there stock was excellent.

It's worth googling for 2cv brake pipe as this is how I usually find the unions and seals.

Thanks guys, I'd found the Bonapart supply, I note in 10m lengths +, not the 25' lengths of the more normal imperial. I have supplies en route.

Surprisingly hard to find a merchant/factor who sells it 'off the roll' in the UK.

Pleiades have no stock of 3.5mm tubing at the moment, they are getting some more in but about a month wait. As I would like to get back on the road a lot quicker than that, I've not had much option.

They regularly run out of it. I had to wait 2 months for some from them a while back. But, cant do anything about it.
