1991 1.9 GTi Red Hatchback F/S - (E-bay)

Post by RxBX »

As title posting J590 RAN spotted F/S on E-bay, looks a tidy/honest BX !

I notice that the seller/vendors name is 'hvanman' (who is Simon on the BXC with the same Tagname which I would have thought is the same person) yet I notice that in the answer to the first question signs off as Peter (However the E-bay listing location is Hamphire and Simons location is Bedfordshire) :?

Good luck with the sale who ever it belongs to !

Blimey talk about turning a fast buck... But at £930 it sold way too cheap, and it's the buyers luck and choice to sell on. I mean, £1800 isn't too unrealistic.

Copy and pasted from the other post about the car.

Hello good people,

The red BX Gti is mine.
I just want to point out that I'm not selling it to make a quick buck. If I was then I wouldn't have just spent a large sum of money getting it professionally mopped, underside cleaned and shutz'd and cavity waxed.

I bought the BX site unseen on ebay and paid what I thought was a fair price. I took it straight to Medway Citroen to have a new water hose fitted. The existing hose had had a repair done to it, wasn't leaking but for peace of mind I wanted a new hose fitted. I also had them put the car up on a ramp to inspect the underside. The underside is great and never been welded.

I've been running it for a few weeks now and it's awesome to drive. The car has really been well maintained. I had every intention on keeping it long term, hence the recent work I've just had carried out. However circumstances have changed and I now have the car up for sale. With this sort of car there is no real price point to gauge it against. The car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I honestly think the car is worth what I'm asking for it. If I don't sell it then I will obviously have to re-evaluate the price.

If someone is serious about buying the car then I'm more than happy to listen to offers.

If it's as good as it looks, there's 1800 quids worth of car there as far as I'm concerned. Infact, if I had the dosh and some space I'd be eyeing it very carefully (probably only offer you 15 though :) ) Nice car; good luck with the sale. 8)

Let's face it, buying a car at a lower price and flogging it on for a slightly inflated one, is how the car trade functions, so no harm done when a private individual does it, for whatever reason.

This. I don't see why someone gets judged for it. Unless he'd been done a favour by a club member in buying a car at less than value purely to allow him to have one, and then decided to make a few quid anyway, what's the issue? You buy in the classifieds for £800 or so, and if you could add a grand to that without affecting anyone you know personally, I know I definitely would!

In fact I am - 106 Rallye for sale now guys!

Phil, I don't think your taking the Pi$$ (IMHO that's probably what folk WILL need to pay) for NOS O/E parts !
