As I point out elsewhere, it sold initially way too cheap... And it's now closer to a fair price I believe. If I hadn't been midway into getting the TZD ready I would've bought this and happily paid up to £1500 for it. And I bet, compared to what I've spent on the TD I'd still be quids in... GTi's are smashing.

Hello good people,

The red BX Gti is mine.
I just want to point out that I'm not selling it to make a quick buck. If I was then I wouldn't have just spent a large sum of money getting it professionally mopped, underside cleaned and shutz'd and cavity waxed.

I bought the BX site unseen on ebay and paid what I thought was a fair price. I took it straight to Medway Citroen to have a new water hose fitted. The existing hose had had a repair done to it, wasn't leaking but for peace of mind I wanted a new hose fitted. I also had them put the car up on a ramp to inspect the underside. The underside is great and never been welded.

I've been running it for a few weeks now and it's awesome to drive. The car has really been well maintained. I had every intention on keeping it long term, hence the recent work I've just had carried out. However circumstances have changed and I now have the car up for sale. With this sort of car there is no real price point to gauge it against. The car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I honestly think the car is worth what I'm asking for it. If I don't sell it then I will obviously have to re-evaluate the price.

If someone is serious about buying the car then I'm more than happy to listen to offers.

Something not quite right with the front height on DUG in some of those pics: it's down when the rear's up (slightly).

It's riding slightly high, which I assume is due to the sticky height lever mentioned in the ad. If you take the lever down a notch it sits and rides very well, so I suspect it just needs tweaking. I'd have done it when I owned it, but I just didn't get a chance.

It does drive very well - the engine in that car is the sweetest D6C I know. Mechanically it's very good and largely original, it just needs cosmetic love. I did the cambelt on it before he got it, not sure if he's mentioned that.

If the height lever is in the "normal" position it should not have any influence over the operation of the height corrector. More likely to suggest the clamp on the ARB needs rotating slightly.

I said due when I should have said related to. The lever is sticky, but yes the clamps may need adjusting too.

I find that I need to give my linkage an occasional spray with 3in1 Penetrating Spray followed by a spray of lithium grease to keep the car rising without delay. Spray technique seems important too as spraying from the top is less effective than from under the wheel arch.
