Apologies for posting non-BX content, but I know lots on here are (or know) fans of other Citroens.
Over the holiday period I accidentally acquired an Acadiane and an AK400. This would be a good thing, except that I've also accidentally acquired another Land Rover, and I already have (according to higher authority) too many projects on the go.
So, one or both of them has to go.
The Acadiane is very nice:
Needs a small amountof welding to the top of the chassis and slight repairs to footwells as usual, plus a repair to the windscreen surround. Otherwise very tidy and not been mucked about with. £2000 delivered to Portsmouth (might be able to arrange delivery further afield, depending on where/when).
The AK400 is much more of a restoration project.
It's a runner and has been in regular use up to now, but only locally. Chassis is very good, but the body's very tired, needs floors and sills, rear skirt, driver's door (supplied) and a genral tidy up. The good news is all the stuff at the front is the same as 2CV saloon, and all the van-specific bits are available and not too pricey. Restored AKs go for silly money these days. Will take £500 for it as it is, can deliver to Portsmouth at cost.
More pics and info available - pm me.

Gosh. Beige Acadiane! Curse my lack of funds.
Two tips. Carandclassic might get you a good result. The AKS400 is worth more than £500 even as a project I suspect.
Alternatively, this chap might be interested, though I doubt he'd want to pay £2k for the Acad due to needing a profit margin. http://www.2cvimports.co.uk/

And mine! I'd love to keep it....Dollywobbler wrote:Curse my lack of funds.
Go on, you know you want to....
Yes, I was thinking of car and classic - just testing the water really at the moment. Off to pay for them this afternoon and maybe pick up one or both. I'm sure the AK is worth more than £500 in the UK - it's just getting it there that's the issue! The Acad is no problem to drive on/off the boat but while the AK would manage it, it would proably attract too much official attention.

Alas I couldn't even afford the 400 at the moment. I have my heart set on an Ami 6 too. Let me know if you spot one for sale. Later in the year, when hopefully I'll actually have funds.

Re: NOT BX - Acadiane and AK400 for sale
Will do - getting fairly rare even over here though.
Result yesterday - picked up the AK (Acad at the weekend) and the seller had stuffed it full of extra bits and pieces and odds and sods (doors, wheels, rear doors, a couple of bits of H van etc), and I also ended up with what appears to be a new old stock Dyane chassis. And a walloping great Husqvarna 281XP chainsaw that he told me was scrap but which turns out just to need fifteen quid's worth of piston and ring. I do like a good chainsaw....
