^ if the stainless one has the correct full length split, and is for sale, I'd like to buy it please...

If not for sale then no worries (wasn't clear)

I have a standard one that I could sell to mr Greendale.
Good heavens! My signature's been moderated...

The split design and internal divider of the OE downpipe is superior to any aftermarket product.

If it is blowing from the box, I would advocate keeping the downpipe from the manifold, cutting out the blowing box and replacing that.

When I put the stainless on my white 16V, this was how I did it to retain the OE downpipe design.

Plenty of the aftermarket downpipes have this divided, including Bosal and Walker (though the Walker one is less preferable as the divider doesn't reach down as far).

The genuine ones do sound the best though, and only the genuine and Bosal have the kink at the right angle on the downpipe section to allow the silencer underneath to sit in the right place, otherwise they sit too low. But try finding one now!

I've got a couple of downpipes spare, if you get stuck.
