Wanted, rear height corrector, BX Meteor.

Post by peterwight »

The suspension height corrector on my J reg 1.9 diesel has apparently bust a gut. And accordingly has failed the car's MOT test. It's swathed in LHM gunge, and I'm advised that a 'new' one is required. Dear fellow members; please send one to me urgently.
For those of you struggling to recognise this device, it's a tiny junction box, about 5cm across, into which are lodged a few pipes, and it lives in front of the transverse exhaust silencer. Thanks in advance. Pete.
p.s. advice on a fair price for this will be welcome.

Have you tried this....

Height correctors are not actually that complicated to rebuild.

Dear Stinkwheel, thanks for prompt advice. I have ordered a repair kit from the shop that you advertised. I expect I'll be in touch with them over and over again. I see you live close to me: please wave if you see BXI 19 trundling about. Ta, Peter

the first thing to check is the short length of rubber pipe/tube that the plastic capillary return pipe plugs into,

if this has split/perished it will coat the height corrector in green blood, and is only a 10 minute repair,

it would also pay to have a Citroen initiated repairer do the work,
