My BX

Post by m_2975 »

Hi Guys,

I said that I would put pics of my BX up so here they are. This is my 1993 BX 19 TZI Sedan with 5Speed Manual, Alloy Wheels and Air-Conditioning.

I hope you like it. It's in very good condition and has 150,000 genuine kilometres on it (about 93,000 miles).

I have a new spoiler waiting to be fitted and am looking for the inserts in the bumper to hold the front foglights and the lower lip for the front bumper.
Let me know if you can help me out.

Regards,

Michael

Thats the colour I have always wanted, and the seats! funny the TZ series in oz doesnt have the plastic quater window as the uk ones! Also it has a black dashboard, yet grey seats and door inserts! Not seen that before either!

I'd love those foglight inserts and the lip spoiler...one problem...it's on the other side of the world!!

This car is my baby!!! There are no shortcuts with this one!!

I'd also love a donor car to install ABS into it.

It drives so beautifully!!

In the spirit of the BX club the Chester branch (just me  ) have decided that if Mr B is good enough to donate the parts I`ll donate my precious time in taking the said items to Australia if Michael donates the airfare.
I know, I know-I`m just too kind sometimes

Smart looking car Michael. Same colour as the second GTi I owned. Surprised that you don't have ABS as I thought most "goodies" were put onto cars at the ends of their production life.
You seem to have a different style of inlet manifold and oil filler. Was this a mod for Oz cars or just because it is a late car?

Looks like the unit used on the 205 GTi.

Car looks very tidy....bet if turns a few heads over there!

Also the lower tailgate panel is painted in body colour as opposed to the usual black. (Am I unobservant though, as I might have missed that on some UK BXs!?). Either way it's nice.

As an aside, I wonder how far one could go 'colour-coding' parts that are usually black - like the sills, front lip spoiler, wing mirrors and so on

Good point Philip. I`m hoping (though it`ll probably never happen) to get my estate re-sprayed at some point and if I do I`m looking at getting the whole car done same colour: window surrounds the lot. I think it should look pretty good and will make it that little bit different.

Were getting confused with TZ series (uk spec) and the TZD turbo which was really a Gti with t/d running gear. The 16/19TZS and 19TZD (non turbo) all had plastic quater windows, larger rubbing strips, two tone bumpers/special wheeltrims and grey interior and tweed seats(same as tg series cars) unless it later model where you could have those lovely velour comfort seats as fitted to this car in question!

I do LOVE that colour though! That in auto would be my ideal!
