BX in classic car weekly, August 19, Letter of the week

Post by kernowtim »

following a tip off from a workmate I have a copy of CCW featuring a letter from a Mr palmer concerning his recently acquired bx 4x4 and the issues of spares availability
To quote " The decline in such a popular car, and a poor spares back up has astonished me. Somehow the BX has slipped beneath the radar, and very soon will be a very rare car indeed. Another 5 years will make this 1990s car almost extinct''
I guess any publicity is good publicity , although its not just Citroen main dealers who have a poor spares availability for a vehicle that has been out of production for over 20 years!!

4x4 was never a popular car though, so spares will always be tricky. BX as a model is pretty easy to get spares for, unless your idea of 'hunting' spares is to drive to your nearest Citroen dealer!
