Uniroyal Rainexpert 3 185/60/14 for the t/d, anyone tried these before or running them currenly? Sadly the budget is stretched i fpund a deal that will fit/balance all 4 for £160 thoughtthat was fair price.

Sounds good value to me, I've heard good things about uniroyals although not run any on bxs.

I was given a BX wheel with a Uniroyal on it, free, thanks man in Brampton Cumbria, some years back. When I needed it, I could not buy a matching one but used it anyway on the o/s rear. It was fine but succumbed to not one but two nails unfortunately - not tyres fault. It did around 10k. The only thing to be a little wary of, is that if your Uniroyals are like mine you have a one way tread pattern so they cannot be fitted on any wheel position if a spare. More an issue of the tread pattern shedding water than a layup problem.

The size I had was the standard 165/70/14 not the larger size you are using.

I am currently running them on my 4x4 Kangoo and I am on my second set. I do like the tyres but didn't get great mileage out of my first set because like Tinkley has pointed out they are a directional tread pattern and my Kangoo bizarrely unevenly wears the outside edge of both back tyres. Because they are directional I just had to move each back wheel forward onto the same side front with the worn tread still on the outside which didn't let the tryes last much longer. I have now replaced all 4 tyres like for like but when the rear tyres have started to wear down the outside edge I am planning on just having the back tyres removed off the rims and swapped onto the opposite side rims in an attempt to get full wear out of the tyres.

I've heard of that tyre wear problem being a problem on Berlingos but not on Kangoos. Rear axle bearings knackered?
Back to original question, 40 each fitted and balanced seems good to me.

No bearings are fine, it is the 4x4 version with independent arms & suspension, I assume if the vehicle was fully loaded they wouldn't wear as the tyres would sit more upright but the majority of my mileage is unladen work commuting with the tyres at a greater camber angle and the outside of the wheels bearing the brunt of the wear although a Citroen mechanic friend of mine has said it is also a problem on some Citroen models and he has changed several rear axles as warranty work which hasn't solved the problem.

Ah ok. The problem with the Berlingos is also excess wear when not laden.
