Has anyone ever changed a heater fan blower motor? What's the access like and from where?

Access from under the bonnet, remove wiper and plastic scuttle panel, then remove several M6 fasteners holding the motor assembly to the car. You may be able to just unclip the motor housing in situ to change the motor, but I've never tried this. Make sure the motor is definitely at fault before condemning it though! There is information in the Tech FAQ which may be useful...

As this /\, It is normally the motor earth that goes on the circuit board behind the control switch.
