Why a 1.7 and a 1.9 diesel?
Why a 1.7 and a 1.9 diesel?
Just a thought..... Why was the Citroen BX supplied with two Diesel engines? Strange considering they were similar in capacity although one was offered as both normally and turbocharged, and the slightly larger in non turbo form ( although in the ZX the 1.9 was offered with turbo..... It just seems a strange idea and I wondered if anyone knew the rational behind it....( if indeed there was!)

Company car tax and insurance I imagine! Same reason why they did a 16RE with 80bhp and a 16RS with 92.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Re: Why a 1.7 and a 1.9 diesel?
Might explain why they badged it as a 17/1.7, when it's actually a 1.8.
Just like the 16RE, with 80bhp, was badged as a 15RE.
