Sad Story

Post by tomwyllys »

Went with my folks to pick up their new dog on a farm in Wiltshire last week and stumbled across this sorry looking thing.

I enquired with the farmer and it turns out it belongs to an ancient bloke in his 90s who has not been able to drive for several years, however he still likes to see the car from his bedroom window hence it sitting outside.

A cleaning crew is needed, and someone pump up the tyres.

If I was closer I probably would offer to that for the chap it was obviously his pride and joy and gives him comfort still being able to see it.

Would be a nice project for Kitch...

TU engine, go fast strpies and a tailblazer!

Sad to see it so neglected, maybe someone may be able to resurrect it. Tom, you should perhaps inform the farmer and have passed on to the owner, that someone on this Forum might take it on and return it to the road? Perhaps that might give the owner some cheer.

Left in it's current state no doubt it will go for scrap when owt happens to the old guy, but if locals joined in and cleaned it up, contact would have been made and possible saving in the future.

I'd happily take it off his hands and leave a life size photo in its place so the guy can still look at it every day, sad thing is many bx's are left in this sorry state purely for sentimental reasons and owners just wont let go, then when the owners pass on they get canned. Ce la vie i guess its destiny is doomed.
