I bought it! I'm always one to haggle or negotiate, however this one was worth every penny. I remember in 1998 when I first passed my test I always wanted a white 16v, I could only afford the insurance on a 1.4e! When this one came up, and it is extremely tidy if not immaculately I had to have it. I don't look at it as I've paid £3500 for the car, I've paid it to the last owner to say thanks for looking after it so well for me.

I think the 16v has come of age, and people are prepared to pay what in reality a very fair price for an iconic 80s hot hatch, you would struggle to get a wreck of a RS Turbo Escort for that money.
I have sold my Valver today to a young lad (24 years old ) who was desperate to buy the Valver you have just bought, plus he too was prepared to pay £3500 for it, and was gutted when it sold, so much so that he put a plea out on the Facebook page asking if anyone was looking to sell a White PH2 16v, he arrived this lunchtime with a trailer and he is now the proud new owner of my 1989 Valver, I gave him a boot full of spares to keep it going for many more years hopefully.

If Valver prices are reaching three and a half grand, I might just about have broken even with mine.

Another 3.5k car??
No not £3500, mine has been off road for a number of years but was pretty much ready for mot, just a few jobs left, a very straight original car.
