Crocks on the Box

Post by M »

In a title shamelessly lifted from that age old tome Jalopy (younger listeners may wonder WTF is the old duffer on about now...) I thought we would have a spot of BX spotting on the telly / cinema. Extra points can be gained by telling us the exact model of the car involved.

We start the ball rolling with this nice Red (and the white) from Green Wing.. notice the BX is sporting later Xantia 14" wheel trims....

I suspect that is no coincience - its likely the production company sourced the BX as car most suitable to be stood on top of whilst singing "all by myself". I suspect there was more than one to give
a) a choice of colour - looking at the photo, the bloke in teh white coat would have looked lost on the white BX....
b) in case anything happned to the first one

or it could be a mad coincidence.

The white one looks like a BX Pilot.

The pilot being the model with the GTi/TZD interior and early style GTi wheel trims but with a 1.6 engine.

I agree Ian looks like like a Pilot, aand being a G reg it would be the right year.

I don't think the Pilot had tinted windows. Sunroof - not sure but think I've seen one with it (could have been an extra cost item)

i think the only pilot i've seen had a sunroof but it was an added extra, not a factory fit. However i'm likely to be getting this mixed up with another vehicle!

Sunroof was a option on a Pilot according to my brochure!
