BX REAR SPOILER

Post by bookman »

Our BX currently has the black plastic/rubber strip on the ledge under the rear window. But we also got given a proper wing spoiler thing too. How do you get the black strip off ? The wingthing currently has 4 bolts sticking out the bottom. Can't see any matching holes in the tailgate....do I have to drill some ?

The rubber strips are bonded on and stubborn to remove , maybe worth sourcing a s/h GTi/tzd turbo tailgate if you want the pram handle type spoiler, trying to remove the rubber strip is more hassle than it's worth and you will run the risk of cracking or damaging your tailgate.

Erm, do you mean the raised section on the bootlid, where a spoiler would normally go? That's part of the bootlid, you can't remove it.

If you're fitting a pram handle, you're best off painting that ridge bodycoloured (which is what Citroen did). The pram handle fits over the top of it, and yes you'll have to drill the holes.
