A friend of mine wants to sell his GTI. I was going to have it but then was overruled as 6 vehicles is apparently too many for 2 persons.
BX 1.9 GTI 1991 (H)
Light grey
Steel wheels and 5 new tyres. It had alloys but he binned them. The wheel spanner is too big for the 'steel wheel' bolts so, although the thread size is OK, the heads are not the right size. I would look at changing them if I was having it.
No wheel trims
New battery
New starter motor
New cam belt
New wishbone bushes
MOT until 29th March 2019
Moss alarm
Managed to do 272 miles in the last 3 years.
Just serviced
Looks a bit sad but wouldn't take long to clean up to a decent standard. .
I believe the sunroof works and it has a deflector.
Windscreen surround both sides needs paintwork sorting and a bit of rust on top corners.
No idea when the lhm system was last flushed but it seems to operate fine and the steering is not heavy.
He does not own a computer so please contact me on splash2cv@btinternet.com if interested and I will give you a contact number or answer anything I can. He will be away for at least a month from May 2nd.
Located close to Chichester. It has to go and he is looking at £1200 or offer.

Re: BX 1.9 GTI
Sorry, forgot that. Mileage is something I don't normally take much notice of when buying. Odometer reads 104,551. He has some MOT certification from further back as well.

Re: BX 1.9 GTI
If I had been allowed to buy the car I would have had them. As his main vehicle is a ripple bonnet 2cv which he travels all over Europe in and it has about 50 years worth of 'patina' new wheel trims are not on the list for a car he doesn't use. Hope somebody buys it and them.

Re: BX 1.9 GTI
Re this vehicle - as already advised the owner is off on his travels in the dreaded 2cv - shortly to be joined by me in my Bx turbo diesel break, but I do have travelling electronic communication - and I do have a mobile number for himself if anyone is curious about his BX.
