Have you been doing work under the dash on the offside?
I had a similar issue and it turn out to be a wiring connection that had been pulled whrn I was checking my Alarm wiring.
Also check the relay that also controls the self park

Doesn't the rear wiper rely on a switched earth? Could be a broken wire in the rubber boot between body and tailgate.

Hi Brian,
do you have a first or a second series BX? First series BX had a rely for the rear wiper, the second seeies BX hadn't ! In both cases, have you cecked your rear wiper switch? Maybe It's just connection failure...
