Also try some of the auctions, if you're looking for something in top-notch condition.

Cheers

Have seen one here.

https://auctions.manorparkclassics.com/ ... 8&pn=1&g=1

8 owners and a few advisories on last mot.
Just the 4x4 system concerns me.
Also. This has been on the market for ages, and didn’t sell so going to auction.

Might be better to buy from a Citroen auction specialist

This was the reply from a colleague over on FrenchCarForum...

" Glenmarch does it. Great on the results side, you can easily do a car search and pull up what has been sold at Auction in the UK and across the world.
eg this is the list for results (inc unsolds) using the car search tab

https://www.glenmarch.com/cars/results? ... old_cars=1

Also does it for upcoming sales, but with the proviso that auction houses build up their catalogues, and many you can see on the auction house websites in advance of the final lists being posted on Glenmarch when the catalogues close for the sale.

Eg Mathewsons/ACA/Brightwells virtually all of them you can watch the catalogue build but not on Glenmarch until the list is finalised.

So Glenmarch for the car search upcoming sales currently for the BX shows nothing so I have just done CX instead as an example

https://www.glenmarch.com/cars/upcoming ... &keywords=

Looking at the upcoming auctions Mathewsons is shown as awaiting details on Glenmarch, but a fairly big catalogue for the 19/20th March sale is already building on their website here.

https://mathewsons.co.uk/auctions/16631 ... march-2021

I think Mick Posted up a BX up for sale on E-Bay the other day if I remember right
He did but its sold
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-BX-1 ... Swge9gMl0Z

This white BX is a live sale on ebay now
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-BX-1 ... 1198.m1985 "

The Glenmarch search facility might be helpful., if you haven't got it already.
Good luck.

It looks OK, but in my opinion those non-standard wheels do nothing for the car. I'd love BXs to be worth a lot more, but £6-8000 is a perhaps a bit ambitious.

Agreed. On both wheels and the price.
Probably why it’s been up for sale for a while.

Previously I have seen better ones go for 4-6000k

Strangely enough two guys knocked on my door yesterday asking to buy my GTi. I think they thought the £6000 I quoted was a bit unreasonable too! Especially for what they hoped was a scrap vehicle...

Based on what I am seeing in relation to classic vehicles, stuff around 40 years old has gone crazy and I think BX's are just just entering that bracket,. The guys might not have been intending to break it, quite possibly looking to buy and sell it on. I think that would be more likely (or keep it) can't blame them for trying.
Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!

If somebody offers £6000 then yes, every man has has price! Alas, Marc, my BX now needs a bit of work doing to it so probably isn't what you are looking for.

I don't doubt it, but the first guy who knocked had no idea what it was whereas his mate got a bit excited when he realised it was a GTi. I did ask them to let me know if they found any scrap ones...
