Wow Rich, what a buy. That will keep you busy for years I reckon and will no doubt be a credit to your skills and abilities. Now I know why you have been selling off other Citroën projects.
But please please don't lose your passion for the BX

Saturday, removed the A/C compressor - drained and flushed it, filled with the new PAO68 oil, and refitted.
Today, fitted new drier and pressostat, and renewed the system's O-rings.
Only ones unable to do were the two at the bulkhead: unions just too tight to undo. Left as were.
Tomorrow, book an R134a re-gas at our local garage.
Lots of fingers crossed for a decent result. [-o<

Appt fixed for R134a re-gas, 0900 Friday.
"The car is older than I am..." remarked the mechanic.
He's a very skilled chap (immaculate bodywork and resprays), and the owner's son. Speaks good English too, which sometimes helps! :)

I don't think you can control what you have and have no passion for, but I can't see my love for the BX fading much

There is an old saying "Never go back...", often applied to houses where you once lived (and which subsequent occupiers messed with), and also, sometimes, to ex-'s (for a similar reason) .

However, when it comes to BX ownership, second-time-around does seem to have it's attractions! \:D/

Ouch, when my HT leads were FUBAR, I recently had a couple of near misses. Otherwise both recently and back In the day I dont recall a single occasion when a BX failed me. That said I am quite anal at preventative works. Otherwise known ( according to Mrs Marc) as as waste of bl00dy money. Still she is happy st the moment. As whilst I drive the BX. Then her daily is my new discovery.

Drove it yesterday in the rain and have rediscovered the massive blind spot caused by the wiper not fully clearing my side of the screen. I may fit an LHD mechanism in future. Apart from that the ride is so much more comfortable than the Micra's. It just absorbs bumps like nothing else.

I thought the BX wipe was central and symmetrical. Ours is, anyway. No unwiped area.
Try repositioning the wiper arm on the spindle.

The wiper arm is fully adjustable on the BX. If it doesn't sweep low enough, then just remove the wiper arm & refit it so it sweeps lower on the drivers side.

Also, make sure that you've got a big wiper blade fitted; the bigger the better. I think that I have a 20" blade on mine, but I'd have to double check.

Failing that, if you're still not happy about the wiper sitting on the passenger side, then you can dismantle the motor and reassemble it so that the arm sweeps in the opposite direction so that it'll stop on the drivers side, like some Mercedes models do. I've never done this myself, but several members of this forum have previously. Some have noted though that they don't like the wiper arm sitting in their field of view.

Sounds easy enough. I'll attempt it tonight.

Check your spare then, it might be the original.
Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!
