Amazon Prime, Grand Tour Presents "Carnage A Trois"

Post by Dave_16v »

Quite looking forward to this, Friday 17th December.

Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!

As a French car fan, I'm compelled to view, yet know it'll be soul-crushingly predictable and plenty of cars will get labelled as 'shit', regardless of whether they are or not.

Hope I'm wrong, but pretty sure I won't be.

Is that Mike Brewer’s SM, or was as I think he put it up for sale?

I saw the ad for this with a pic of a cx in the background, it won't be the first one Mr Clarkson destroyed, remember top gear (very tall and smashed to smithereens over the edge of a cliff) cx camper conversion?

Yeah it is. Bit of a hound, according to SM circles I've been in.

I believe Mike Brewers SM was sold at the NEC Classic Car Show. Iain Tyrrell brought it for a client with the intention of giving it a good going over. Iain Tyrrell if you don't know is quite well known Lamborghini restorer amongst other things.

I have to say that I quite enjoyed the programme, but then I do have a bit of a puerile sense of humour. Although I didn't particularly enjoy watching the 205 GTi getting knocked about in the race sequence.

I actually watched it with my Mum who also enjoyed it, more so for the SM. But then she used to drive one!

I quite liked it, too. The 205 racing made me wince slightly but I see them crash all the time in rally compilations. I didn't mind seeing the 2CV Charleston dropping out of the sky either because it looked pretty ropey.
I was pleasantly surprised at how appreciative they were of the cars they were driving.

Yup, I'm another who had to eat humblepie. Thought it was actually pretty good, all things considered.
