Re: abs sensor
This is a rarity and unavailable from anywhere. When available they were around £80 from Citroen so that is your starting point.
The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

99% of the time the wire fractures were it is constantly flexed on rears over the rear arm, and fronts as it goes around the front strut,
they can usualy be repaired if you can find the break,
here is price and part No. from citroen
Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
91539398 SPEED SENSOR 258.09 GBP 309.71 GBP 309.71 GBP
i think they must have trouble with the decimal point point point point
regards malcolm
As you can see last price before they became unavailable was £309, i actually bought a rear one from leaders citroen liverpool in 2009 for £170 part no 91537913, so was probably hoping for about £150ish. (sorry not copy and pasted this right, barry)

Re: abs sensor
There are a good few new ABS sensors available, which have similar mounting arrangements (cylindrical snout plus fixing arm). For roughly contemporary XM, there were essentially two types used, differing only in their d.c. resistances, one of which was 1050ohm, the other iirc much lower. If we knew the resistance of the BX ones (and some dimensions), we might be able to find a current aftermarket/spare item. The price of this now unobtanium item looks daunting!
As said, the cabling is a minor detail.

Re: abs sensor
The resistance for BX sensors is 800-1200 ohms.
A while back (perhaps it will come up in a forum search) there was a discussion about the options available for other sensors that might fit. The wiring will inevitably need to be spliced, as you have already surmised

Re: abs sensor
As I recall only the Peugeot 405 sensor was the same fitting apart from needing a BX connector spliced on.

Re: abs sensor
I have a source of 1050ohm sensors, a VW item. Have one here. Do we know the diameter and reach of the cylindrical body?
