Due to family reasons I am currently away from home in Kent, staying near Ulverston in Cumbria. Unfortunately the MoT is looming on my BX which also needs a service and whatever other work the MoT throws up (welding?!).
I’m familiar with the well known specialists in the south, but cannot really get the car to them. Is anyone familiar with or able to recommend any reliable garages in Cumbria or Lancashire that can work on a BX? If so I’d be very grateful!
Might be best if you send recommendations to me directly by private message.

This might be a bit late, but if you’re still stuck there’s a Citroën specialist in Lancaster, or there’s also Dave Ashworth’s in Blackpool. Dave doesn’t have a website, but here’s a link for Albion Mills in Lancaster. https://www.albionmillsgarage.co.uk/

Re: Garage recommendations in Cumbria or Lancashire
Thanks Mark, actually the car is currently at Dave Ashworth’s! Incidentally they were also had a 16v in yesterday for a cam belt change as well as a gold SM parked up outside.
I wasn't aware of Albion Mills, so that’s useful for another time just in case.

Spookily enough, my 16 Valve is going into Dave Ashworth’s tomorrow for it’s MoT and cambelt change.

Re: Garage recommendations in Cumbria or Lancashire
Small world! Thankfully mine passed with only small advisories a slight oil leak and the common earth problem with the rear lights.

Re: Garage recommendations in Cumbria or Lancashire
Dropped the Valver off at Dave’s this morning. Passed with no advisories. Just the cambelt kit to fit and the new Michelin MXV’s to be fitted. All being well, I’ll be picking her up on Tuesday. Had a tussle with some god awful BMW M badged SUV thing on the M55. They eventually gave up and moved over into the middle lane and let me pass as we approached 120 mph. The look on their faces as a 33 year old Citroën shot past them was priceless. In my defence M’Lud I was giving the fuel injectors a clean out.

Some idiots will do anything not to be overtaken by a fast BX. Hope it wasn’t in the roadworks

It's not big and it's not clever - yes it is
I did something similar in my "slightly warmed" Commer camper when a VW T25 was hogging the middle lane, his face was a picture when a ratty old Brit van screamed past

Re: Garage recommendations in Cumbria or Lancashire
Many years ago in my Dyane days I used to use Voiture Technique in Warwick and once they let me borrow their 5 speed, 1299cc GSA engined Dyane which was an absolute hoot, and would’ve been even better without the knackered engine mounts.
On returning it to them I caught a 911 on the A4141 slightly napping and went in for the kill with this beige, brick shaped missile…
