Interchangeability

Post by jvbram »

Hi. Im looking for a new or reconditioned HP pump for Bx XUD9. Would a GTI 16v one fit, it looks similar.
Alternatively, a workshop that does exchanges.

No you need a diesel specific one. Pleiades here in UK will recondition your pump and you could always try Chevronics or the BX parts specialists in Netherlands.
The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

So why does the diesel have a smaller pulley?

I'm guessing slower revving engine so smaller puller makes up for the lack of engine revs. maybe.

Got it. There is a thread inside the pulley. Whats that for? Its a press fit isnt it?
