Jonkw answered this question for me some time ago but hopefully somebody can answer is for me again.
The Motronic GTi 8v ignition module is a 7 pin unit. Some time ago i had one fail and bought the 7pin unit off GSF, part number N92354.
This turned out to be the wrong part. Does anybody know if the ignition module should be part number N92352, the one listed for an XM 2.0 or late model 1.8, 2.0 ZX?

Yeah some do, all models can use a 7pin according to Bosch, the extras are rendered useless. They all use the same plugs AFAIK, but whether they have metal contacts in or not depends on the model of car...mine only has 5wires and one is an earth.
The one above is the common application, but I guess it doesn't go for every vehicle....I haven't checked PR net yet so it might reveal all on there.
Cheers

Having looked on PR net, if your car has the dizzy cap assembly, its the same as the 16v, which in turn is the same as most models and is the number I listed above. Citroen P/N: 5945 48
If you've got the black coil pack (which I suspect you do) then you want Citroen P/N: 5945 54.
The Bosch number to this is 0 227 100 200.

Looks the same, but is different and the only BX it is fitted to, is the GTi with coil pack ignition. (xu9j2)
It does fit some XM 2.0i's....XU10J2 type with coil pack ign. Also fits ZX 1.9 Volcane with coil pack, and ZX 16v.
Plus AX GTi with catalyst, early Xantia 2.0i 16v VSX and the rare Synergies with the 2.0 CT turbo lump....if you ever see one!
Aswell as many other makes of car....
Hope that helps

Whereabouts on the Gti is this module found, I may have one on my Hurricane although much of the ignition has already gone to another BX fanatic?

Ian I had a squiz but as I suspected only it's counterpart that it plugs into is there
. I don't have a clue about fuel injection and my Haynes has gone awol so I'm not sure which bits are relevant
. There is a sort of rail across the front of the engine which I assume is to do with the injectors, the whole thing is intact as is the distributor unit. Is that lot of any use to you?
