Looking to buy a BX that is on ebay.

Post by Old John D »

Hi.
After a long time I am thinking of buying another BX.
There is a silver estate on eBay (J315ARM), and I'm wondering if anyone knows any history of it.
It looks and reads encouraging, but being aware before I view would be a bonus.
Amongst the MOT history there is no mention of corrosion, (surprisingly) and no mechanical details in the advert except to state that it has been recently serviced and MOT,ed.
(I've got my list of probable faults to check; hydraulics, rear bearings, sticking struts, and corrosion).
If all goes well, then expect me to be out and about in it - fingers crossed.
Thanks, John.

This car sold very recently for £850. The seller is now looking to make quick profit. Whether he has done any work on it is unknown. As always caveat emptor.
The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

From the pictures it does look surprisingly good, but the seller neglects to mention it has done 170000+ miles. MoT history is actually quite good and I was also surprised no corrosion mentioned. No photos of the engine bay…

Good luck!

It does look nice but is that a gaffer tape stripe on the tailgate? Or could it just be the lighting. Easy fix if it just needs a stripe redoing.

The estate has turned up on Manor Park Classics auction site via C&C

And surely that’s not a BX steering wheel?

It's a ZX wheel.
Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!
