Hi, my 1st time on forum
I have the above car, bought and kept in France for last 7 years, super clean car.
But i have following problem, the suspension lifts and drops in all 3 positions, a bit creaky but has always been fine, however the front suspension rises to correct height but then feels solid, no give, back suspension seems fine.
Any suggestions, usually get my parts from "Chevronics", bit wary of the garages in France, but it does get serviced by local dealer and MOT every 2 years, never a problem.

'88 BX GTi (a long time ago) - x 120
Re: 1990 Citroen BX 1.6 Millesime
Hi and welcome. I had the same issue with a GTi I had many years ago, changed the front spheres and it was still the same. I never did get to the bottom of it as I sold it soon after but it has been suggested to me since that the spheres I bought were dodgy or the struts were knackered. Sorry I can't give a definite answer but I'm sure there will be someone more experienced along soon.

Almost certainly spheres with ruptured diaphragms.

I was asked what part of France i kept my BX, its near a town called Fontenay le Comte about 35 miles north east of La Rochelle in the Vendee, someone mentioned that it might be "ruptured Spheres" would both go at the same time?

We have a place in Burgundy, so nowhere near...
If the spheres are old, especially if the car sits for a long time, the diaphragms can split when the car is next used. Later spheres have an internal spike that pierces the diaphragm when the pressure gets too low, as this is activated by going over a bump, both can go at the same time.
