BX 16TRS Magnetic Blue, Needs help!

Post by Tim Leech »

Hi Guys

Ive rejoined the ranks of MK2 ownership, and have purchased a very well known "modified" 16TRS, with strut lowering brackets and some fancy wheels.

The seats are wrecked and the drivers wing and NSR door are damaged, anyone got some magnetic blue panels in their loft and a nice set of tweed seats please!

Thanks!
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Wait no way you bought that BX. What are your plans for it? It seems like a nice car if we ignore the modifications (granted the wheels are quite nice). Anyway me and a friend were looking at it the other day and we figured that the strut lowering brackets are probably quite a dangerous modification. Namely the way they were done means that the entire weight of the car rests not only on the bolts going through the spacer and into the body, but a really tiny portion of the body and the strut tops, instead of the whole flange.
Good luck with it!

You are a brave man Tim. I am sure that you are up to the challenge of sorting this beast. Congratulations!!
Sorry but I cannot help with the parts you need.
The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

Well its home, mixed feelings, its very solid, and mechanically good. The suspension mods are not to my taste and it ruins the ride.

Its had a rear end shunt so the nsr/14 panel is rippled, and it has its fair number of battle scars, but did spend a lot of time in France I understand!

First thing is to sort the carb, and remove the suspension mods, give it a damn good clean and source most of the missing or broken items!
