Rebuilt FDV - power steering gone

Post by assembled »

Hi, I rebuilt my FDV due to leaks and weak power steering and now I have no leaks, but also no power steering at all. If before rebuild turning steering all the way to the lock would load the pump and have a hiss, now there is absolutely no change in pump load neither when turning steering when parked nor pushing it to lock. I had both plungers out, all 4 plugs out, filters out, steering pressure limit assembly out. Did not take apart plungers. I have marked the limit screw and collar before disassembly (both position and depth relative to body) and returned it to original position.

Suspension rises same as before, pump kicks in/out as before. What errors could cause this behavior? Is there something specific I need to check?

The only thing that I’d ask is did you put all the hydraulic lines in the correct place? If that’s a definite yes, then did you put the plungers in the correct way. If anything is upside down, then it won’t work correctly.

Check the lines first & go from there.

Double check the rebuild guide on here if needed.

Hope that helps.
