Re: Merry Christmas
Thanks and same to you! My BX is unfortunately suffering from Solex so it doesn't run the best. Unfortunately it is killing my joy in driving it. Also the front struts like to stick all the time so I feel like I'm driving a clapped Golf on cut springs. My hope is that all other BXers have more luck with their prized brutalist hatchbacks come next year!

Re: Merry Christmas
Seasons greetings all. I will be taking advantage of the opportunity to eat and drink and play games to excess (maybe) while dreaming of driving a perfect BX in the mountains again.
The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

Re: Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas BXers.
Unfortunately on Christmas Eve on the way to my sister’s, my BX decided to have some kind of catastrophic gearbox/driveshaft failure. Just as I entered hangar lane gyratory there was an almighty bang and it felt like the transmission locked up.
Managed to get going again but very gingerly and took the slow roads at 15mph the rest of the way, but there are some decidedly unpleasant noises coming from the front. I’ll be able to investigate a bit more once I can get it up in the air but the long and the short of it is that the car’s not going anywhere for a while and I suspect I’m in the market for a gearbox

Re: Merry Christmas
Oh no
Hopefully it's only a driveshaft joint gone. I had a failure recently, not as spectacular but the the noises coming from it were not nice. The joint was completely knackered and showed no signs before it went.
