Keep your eyes and ears open - NOS Mk1 and 2 parts seem to be in temporary short supply at the moment from a variety of sources.

Andy, try Jackson`s car breakers in Ewloe, north Wales. They had a MK2 in with those tinted quarter lights. I don`t know if they are the same as the MK1 though. Unfortunately the o/s one is broken-some cack handed fool broke it (me!) but I think the n/s one is o.k

Jackson`s car breakers, Transport Yard, Old Aston Hill, Ewloe: 01244 531946.

Very close to the A55 bypass.

hang on, i thought i broke the O/S one? i know which one your talking about, its the one behind the buildings with a XR3i soft top parked infront of it and i think a 405 on the roof of the BX?

To get to it you come off at the St Davids/Mold turn off, go all the way round the round about and come off before you go back onto the A55. Sad when we both know the locations of remaining BX's in scrappies and where there parked!

Jacksons are one of the better priced scrappies in the whole area and will usually let us back the landrover in to load parts!

That`s fine by me if you want to take the blame! It certainly is the very car you mentioned, the XR3 is now doing a good impression of a swimming pool though.
I have to say, with great respect, that they certainly were not cheap i.m.h.o. but I didn`t really have a choice at the time. I`m going to go back to the one by the A550 in Queensferry when I get the chance to check over the silver hatchback he had there.
I`m desperately hoping my local garage owner is back from holiday tomorrow as I need my BX mending and/or a temporary car to use urgently. The Maestro has a buyer lined up and the test expires very soon.

Hi Andrew, I sent you a PM (if I did it right) explaining in a roundabout way that I have got a pair a brand new smoked rear plastic panels which would look much better on a Mk1 BX than on a shelf in my garage. Drop me a line. Ken

good (ish) news! My local breakers in Queensferry (which aint close but its the one i use!) has a nearly new BX 16TRS in which is in perfect condition (and had £1.30 in the ashtray, just enough to get me through the tunnel!). It has the rear plastic seethrough panels untouched and undamaged! I'm planning on returning at some point and will try to get them off, can anyone advise me on how the hell to get them off intact?

Hi Vanny, The're stuck on with sikaflex, you know, the stuff they stick windscreens in with. I have cut screens out before using serated wire but dont know if you'll get in with that. Anyway don't worry too much about the N/S as I have a surplus of those. Regards Ken
