Good point Jeremy. Theres a place where I live called Malvern Rebore actually. The name suggests that thats the kind of thing they would do. Do they just scew in a piece of metal with a thread in the middle the same size as the original? I have just had a look on the GSF website and saw that they do them, so I might call the Birmingham one tomorrow and see if I can escape from work for a few hours to collect ythe part. Ill see how it goes.

Yep. It's still on a car, but if you need one, come and get it. PM me.adamskibx wrote:Does anyone have one?

Helicoil is a sort of sleeve which is inserted. I've had a Renault 4 head done after I stripped a plug thread by using the spanner too soon but never actually seen it done. I'm sure a search will revel how its done.
Just a thought - if you do have it done take the flexi with you. I don't know what thread its got (probably metric) but it may turn out to be BSP (British Standard Pipe) or something which is still used all roundd the world.

Of course it's good sevice,M+M's is only about 10 miles from Barnsley .Does anybody know if there's a weakness with the offside caliper ,cos I gave Ken my spare one then mine started being naughty, then this onecavmad wrote:Adam, get hold of M&M (?) in Holmfirth, Yorkshire. I got a brand new one for about £20 I think and they post stuff out very quickly too. I`m very impressed with their service and would use them again no problem.

Cheers guys; I think what ill do is ring m&m today, as well as my other local specialist. The one said he didnt have any, but I can imagine that he'd say he cant fix it if I took it there and asked him to do it. Fair enough I suppose, they wouldnt survive if everyone did their own cars.
Failing both of those, it'll be GSF in Birmingham. Ive no idea why but the 16v BX caliper is cheaper!

Thanks for the offer of parts David and Brian, but some people have pointed out to me that it would be more logical to just buy one from a local shop or GSF. I just got a bit panicy as I really need the car this Friday as im due to go on holiday to the South coast, and I really need a holiday, and a nice relaxing drive in the BX lol. Ive managed to find a lead to a garage that will do them for £50 so long as I give them the old one, and I havent got any economic cars I can use do thats going to work out cheaper than travelling anywhere, and obviously I woulnt expect something for nothing anyway. Hopefully by the end of the day ill have something sorted.
