Yeah that'll get broken up with an ad like.

Anyone wanting a nice 16v will not take that seriously as there are no pics etc, unless they're local enough to go have a look see.

205er's don't care obviously....as long as its got the engine. Shame too, as its a ph1 and they're now the rarer version.

Isn't the Mk1 more powerful with a higher bhp too? :(

Why does everyone think that? :?

The only ones that are less powerful are the really late catalysed models with the DFW lump. They're 148bhp, but thats from late 1992 onwards. Everything else was D6C....160bhp. Same goes with 405 mi16 and 309GTi 16.

16vs are still being broken no matter how much we all like them, sad thing is we cant save all the ones thats left, Kitch your advertising one for £100 which is a bargain and soudns easily fixable but noone wants it except Ken who will break it up for parts

If i had the space I would be buying them up but im upto 6 cars at the moment and have to get rid of 3 very soon!

er...I'm selling the car

Post by BCXM »

I have no intention of breaking it up.
I bought several cars as a package and this was one of them. I haven't got pics of the car as my computer is buggered and I can't go onto any secure sites such as my ebay/email etc. I have to use an internet cafe to put these ads on until I have the problem sorted

I did have someone in the trade for it but they let me down so i'm just testing the water to see if anyone wants it. Its straight enough but the paintwork is in a sorry state.

BCXM, can you take pictures on your mobile `phone? If so maybe you could send them to a friend and ask him/her to put onto pc and upload onto eBay or a website somewhere?

Don't have a camera on my phone...
The car is situated close to the M25 so any genuinly interested parties hopefully will go to see the car in the flesh which is always better. It also weeds out the timewasters to the genuinly interested parties.

Okidokes, as you can probably tell BX 16 valves are still being bought purely for the engine and boxes even if they are perfectly useable and then put in a 205/309 etc. Phase 1 models (1987-1989)are getting quite rare now mainly partially due to the fact that they were at one time worth more in parts/conversion then as a car in its own right.

We all hope that the car gets saved and returned to the road but its future does look a bit wobbly!

If the guy shows up in a 205 send him packing! :D

I'm well aware of this..
However I have plenty of 2.0 Turbo engines I have taken out of bland pug 605's the boy racers can have if they want their 205's to go faster..

Contrary to opinion I have only ever broken 3 BX's up and since I have sold 25 of them I think my ratio of saving to breaking is quite acceptable especially as the parts have gone straight into cars I sell.

Welcome matey, dont take anything personally.
If it makes anyone feel better I've broken two phase 1 16v's. That said they were both total dogs! and all the parts from both cars went on to keep 4 other bx's on the road that would otherwise have been scrapped so not a bad ratio I reckon!
Cheers

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...
