They're still out there!

Post by ken newbold »

It seems just when you thought they'd all gone, another one turns up out of the blue, or out of the green in this case.

Found this one the other day, hiding under a tree just 200 yards from my lock-up.

Saw the owner feeding his horses and asked him what he was doing whith the BX. "oh we've just finished with it, why do you want it?" he tells me it just needs 2 handbrake cables for MOT and possibly a ball joint, feels more link a drop link to me but anyway, had a good look round it and it's possibly the tidiest BX estate I've seen in years.
So, "how much do you want for it" I asked, make me an offer he says, then he tells me it had a new clutch just last year. So what would you say. It's got 125k on the clock, the engine sounds really good with no pressure or heavy breathing.

So to begin with I tell him it would weigh in for £60 right now, "right then he says £60 it is then" :o

No doubt the car will have some issues but what it wants, it will get.

Yummy! nice colour as well. There is a guy on Ebay who has hundreds of HB cables for these. Mine arrived in a couple of days at a total cost of £9.40 a pair inc postage. That looks like one clean estate; well done!

I'm going TXD with TZD wheeltrims.
Wrong bumpers for a TZD. Although it is a late car so could be a mix and match situation, so it could have all kinds of goodies!

It is indeed a TXD, don't think they ever fitted the chrome edged strips on the TZD :? The wheel trims were added by me, which is actually the only thing I've done so far.

My handbrake cables are somewhere in the lock-up.

All the spheres are nice & soft but the accumalator is flat. Should I ask for a refund. !!!---)))

I would spend £5 and get one from Kitchs place! Was it that clean when you got it?

The only thing I've done is fit the wheel trims and wipe the leaves off the bonnet and roof.

Ken, that`s a beauty and a great find at a great price. It`d be difficult to see how you could go wrong at that price.

Where did you find that?

I live in Holbury near Southampton and have a silver estate, and just opposite my house there is a track, which leads to some houses and one of the guys up there has a silver estate also...

Just wondering if it was his as the number plate looks similar...
