Saw this at the CCC rallye for sale, he was wanting around £3000 for it!

But find another one with the mileage.

Now there is a problem with G series.............

they cost as much as anything else to restore/fix.
they are very rare now, less than 100 known roadworthy GS and only a few hundred GSA's.

They are often very cheap to buy due to most of them needing some sort of work. Parts are getting very tricky to get hold of at sensible prices.

Virtually no one specialises in G's (only one place in the whole of UK really)

Lastly, virtually no one will pay a proper classic car price for a very good example, they are worth literally nowt even if perfect.

He will never get more than 1500 quid for that car, honestly, no one will pay it.

Rant Over :-)

I know the car, it's really nice (so's the owner) - but it's not for me. I don't have anywhere near enough dosh, or space to put it. Am watching the auction though!

I have got GSA's roadworthy but could never afford to get the bodywork to condition 1 standard because of the cost. Even though I have what I thought would be the ultimate car in my CX prestige I really miss my G nothing like that engine noise...

I really hope the guy gets close to what he wants for it..

Interesting you should say that. I've had a few G's on the road and more than a few CX's (including couple of prestiges)

The CX is my favourite car to drive, full stop, i love them.

The G's as you say have a wonderful engine but dont feel as good as i had hoped to drive. The problem for me is a G is too much of a compramise, its engine makes you think its an overgrown 2CV but treat it like one and it bites you, The hydro Cit bits make you think its a shrunk CX and it doesnt behave like one, just not enough weight.

So you gotta love a G for what it is, a G :-)

well...as I commute from London to Brighton everyday I found my GSA the nicest to drive on that run..slightly underpowered but very comfortable and you've gotta love that dash....
Perhaps i'm so scared that something's going to go wrong on my CX that I can't enjoy the drive down!!
