sorry about that cavmad, i forgot that there are a few bx mystical van beasts roaming the countryside. Never seen one myself, although have seen piccies.

Does anyone know how many were officially produced? or are they just conversion jobs?

Go to the Continent if you want a BX van, or the nearest thing to one that Citroen produced.

Aside from a relatively small number of BX ambulances, there were "Enterprise" version of several models, sold on the back of tax breaks for a particular kind of commercial vehicles. If my memory serves me correctly they were mainly breaks (i.e. estates) without rear seats, and maybe with inoperative rear doors.

Something along the lines of..... http://cgi.ebay.fr/BX-14-EVASION-BREAK_ ... dZViewItem[/url]
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

Mulley, I think the total number was circa 180 produced in total. 140 1.9 n/a diesels and can`t remember what the others were!
Tim 2CV will be able to tell you this as one of his mates (who`s also a 16V owner) has one.

Tim2cv/Ian Fearns mate is Mad Justin (who is on here somwhere!), the numbers Billy posted sounds about right for the vans (1.9 NA Diesels) that sold in Ireland. Basically they where estate shells, with almost normal doors welded shut and the glass replaced with metal plates (one piece from rear to 'b'pillar) i know of two, Justins and one of the CCC Members. Theres not a lot to them, certianly a disappointment to me who thought they would be something magical :(

I was well impressed and the dodgy looking welding (no offence Justin) which was obviously there from new just added to the charm. Apparantly the welded bits are there on the estates too, just they`re hidden under the trim.
Really does look like a half-arsed attempt by Citroen to graft an estate rear onto a hatchback shell but I more than happy to report that the estate (and Justin`s van) are brilliant things!
