Right i've got another one here but this is slightly different.

A CCC member has just called offering a one owner car until 2004 and him since.

Its a B reg 1984 19RD in Gold. The body sounds good with some patchiness but nothing too serious.

The interior is apparently well above average.

The MOT has just run out but it doesnt sound like it wants much/anything to pass. The owner has bought an estate BX because he needs the space.

The car is also taxed until the end of Jan.

THIS CAR IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO SOMEBODY PROMISING TO GIVE IT A NEW LIFE.

I'd have this one myself if i had the space.

I think a token gesture would be nice being as though it has tax on it but other than that its free.

Is the car still avaliable? I would like to buy it...

I bought a MK I 19RD off ebay which was a suprsingly good car. I put it up for sale but decided to keep it. I had the subframe replaced (as they rot like anything) retro fitted power steering, had the rear arms done and the front brake calipers replaced, MOT'd it and stupidly left it near the post office in Croydon to tax it. I was gone one hour as I went shopping only to find glass everywhere and the car gone.

I was truly gutted...

Nothing better than the MK I in IMHO.............

That is a horrible feeling BCXM after the initial reaction of disbelief. Years ago they hopefully could be found in the Police Pound, but today that doesn't happen and the toe-rags have probably torched it after their joyride!

It was scrap people when it was £70 a tonne... I suppose it was my fault but I never thought that it would be taken within that hour.

Wouldn't have thought the BX was attractive to rogue scrappers due to its high level of composites.

Wouldn't they normally go for the all-steel types?

There are not many jobs where you can earn a minimum of 50 quid for just picking up what you think are abandoned vehicles..They probably didn't know anything about the car they just saw what they thought was an old vehicle with an out of date tax disc and took it

Presumably though they must be in league with the crushers because don't you need the documents seen, stamped up etc to go to DVLC to be accepted if the crusher is on the level?

This is what I said to the Police, who were god damn awful.. I can confirm that certain places DO NOT check plates and logbooks before weighing them in. I have a recovery truck and have weighed stuff in and seen it for myself. A Citroen specialist in Merton has lost two cars including a V6 XM i was going to buy off him to these idiots. The DVLA know about it but the police are totally ignorant. O.K if the car had been taken by the DVLA or Police fine but this was theft and I had taxed it that day!!!
