I live in Chelmsford and have asked if I can view the car. I'm probably not going to be able to bid anything like it might be worth, but I can report back to this forum.

Maybe I'm being dim but shouldn't it have a black splitter on the front bumper??

If I had enough money, it wasn't white and had alloys I'd offer the guy a serious amount of money for it. Thankfully I have no money and it is white!

Awesome looking motor for the year though!
Cheers

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Seems to be missing the splitter alright...

He mentions that black auto GTi that went for £750 on ebay today. He wants more?

Black splitters came after 1990 I think. Unless I'm much mistaken, Phase 1 16vs had them but lost them with the Phase 2 update. So I guess the GTi was an obvious choice for all those left over splitters!

Also It really would be better with alloys as those trims never say on!

Over £750? I guess someone might, but as pointed out, it does have a few things not going in its favour: White (IMHO), wheels, pre-plastic coated pipework, those darned grey bumpers, Jetronic injection...

But still a rare find these days with that condition, mileage and provenance.

The black splitter was from 1990 only. My uncle had an august 1st 1989 G reg GTi without the splitter yet a late G reg GTi i know has one.

Cracking car, well worth whatever he's asking for it :D

I`m with Ian here, I really think that`s worth good money as it must be almost impossible to replace and it should also hopefully find a sympathetic and loving home.

Has anybody noticed it has the ULTRA rare earlier dash clocks?

If i had to put a value on this car (of course assuming its as good as its mileage suggests) then i'd give it at least £1500 which is the absolute top price i believe any BX is worth unless its a 4TC ofcouse.

I've just spoken to the chap and he's emailed me some more pics. If anyone's interested PM me your email address and I'll forward them...

Seems very genuine and he's bringing the car round on Wednesday for me to look at - I can then check out anything else someone might want me to...

Beyond my budget, I think!

It's the second one that's been up recently I think. I may well be seeing htis one tomorrow, weather permitting and will report back. Seems a lot of £££s but I reserve judgement. Certainly judging from the pics the seller sent me, this is near as dammit showroom.
