The inner wing plastic inserts are present, the inner wings are just unbelievably clean, cant put my finger on it but theres something about that car that just says "WRONG"! and it's a load of money.

The wings look blank without side flashers and somehow the front bumper doesn't look like it belongs, too white or something hmmm

It's French-registered , it's in France, it's probably got a recent Controle Technique (French MOT - bi-annually AFAIR), and it stops and goes.
That is enough to put a car of almost any make into the 1000-euro-plus class, especially as the French have cars and like driving them, as opposed to coveting fashion accessories on wheels. They couldn't give a stuff what it looks like so long for the most part, so long as it hasn't been Barried.

Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

I agree, the most eye-watering prices are asked (and paid) for cars we would consider way past it. Buying second-hand in France is not like it is here. Trouble is, the insurers, as I found out with my GSX when it was totalled, don't share the same views about a car's value. Mind you, they don't here either.

Thats what I love about going to France and Italy. Seeing old Citroens Fiats is so refreshing when all you see on our roads are Fords and vauxhalls. On my last trip to France not long ago, I had a Visa in front of me and I saw an LNA in Calais. All have stellar miles on them but they really look after their cars..
