Spigot on rear hub

Post by BX Bandit »

Does anyone know what purpose the spigot on the rear hub serves?

Its there to locate the rear wheel before you put any bolts in, i use a dummy stud to locate my Graphites otherwise the hub spins and you cant see the hole

doh! seems obvious now you say it :P Was hoping it would be a Citroen quirky throwback. I guess it's cos you cant lock the rear wheels. Do any other cars have front hand brakes?

All oleo Citroens have front wheel handbrakes, rear wheel handbrakes would cause the self levelling system to throw hissy fits.

Most Renault 4's had the front handbrake as well - except for some of the very last.
